Bond to speak in Indian
Ohm Films International are to make Bond speak in Indian languages
A billion Indians can now watch their favourite films in the languages
they want. Ohm Films Intl has tied up with Hollywood biggies, MGM
and Ashok Amritraj to release re-packaged versions of famous classic
Hollywood Blockbusters
Film producer, AV Mohan feels “Bond was the right brand name
to open up the entertainment market in India”. To start with,
Ohm Films Intl. has chosen two great Bond classics which will be
releasing theatrically all over the country in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu
and English. The Spy Who Loved Me premieres on January 2 as Pyar
Dushman Se (in Hindi) followed by Goldfinger as Sone Ka Khazana
in February.
These sure-shot entertainers are full of mindblowing action sequences,
gorgeous Bond babes and high-octane climaxes which have all been
shaken and stirred into a uniquely Indian package. This includes
a whole new publicity design and look and innovative marketing concepts
like the Indiakabond yatra. The yatra will be a series of motorised
convoys that will criss-cross the country for 3 weeks during the
films’ release introducing 007 directly to the masses of India
with street plays featuring James Bond, Bond girls and Bond villains,
Audio Visual shows and interactive programmes.
This is just the start. Ohm Films Intl. will be releasing a number
of Hollywood classics like BenHur, The Magnificent Seven and the
entire James Bond series in all main Indian languages, English and
even in Sinhalese for Sri Lanka.
